Countdown to Christmas Day 1: Make a Homemade Ornament
Good Morning Everyone! ❤ I hope you’re having a lovely Saturday. Today I want to share with you the first of 31 activities we’ll be doing to celebrate the holidays all month long. Day 1 is to make a homemade ornament. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a Christmas junkie. Yes, I’m Jewish, but I love Christmas. My husband is Filipino and is not Jewish so we celebrate both holidays in our household. That said, instead of double gifts, we choose to do double bucket list activities! Our daughter loves this much more instead of a pile of presents.
Homemade ornaments. It has been a while since I last got my arts and crafts on. But I have to admit: sitting at the kitchen table across from my daughter chatting… coloring Popsicle sticks… and laughing as we got glue all over ourselves, was actually really fun! We gabbed the night away making these cute ornaments and noshing on curried fish nachos. Okay, so our ornaments won’t make anyone’s Pinterest boards anytime soon. But, the memory of making them together will burn in my brain for a lifetime 🙂 One last thing before I share this pic with you and then I’m off….
Since we are minimalists we hate clutter. And you know Christmas can have loads of clutter. So this year was our first attempt at putting up a minimalist Christmas tree! While ours is not decorated (yet) I have to say… I’m loving the “tree on the wall” look! What do you think? Would you ever ditch a fake or real tree for a minimalist tree? Is there a special homemade ornament you’ve made before? I’d love to know! Have a wonderful day everyone and as always, keep on cooking ❤
