Six Banana Banana Bread & Halloween Decors on a Dime [RECIPE]

Good Evening Everyone!

How are you doing? Are you doing spook-tacular? Yeah, I know that was cheesy. I’m sorry 🙂 I’m getting so excited for Halloween! Can you tell? Before we get into today’s super, moist banana bread recipe that will make you swoon from here to next Sunday…. let me share with you my latest tip on Halloween decors: The Dollar Tree! So the minimalist in me really didn’t want to spend a lot of money on Halloween decorations this year. And the “budget-er” in me didn’t want to spend a lot of money either.

That said, enter Mr. Noob Chef romping through the Dollar Tree picking up decorations to surprise our little one. We wanted things to be spooky… but not creepy. (i.e. no dead limbs or tombstones with our names on them). So we went pumpkins, spiderwebs, and cute tablecloths that now line our breakfast bar. Yes, we decorated our tiny home for $10 USD and the kiddo couldn’t be happier! (We’re really happy too 😉 ). So as you’re getting festive for Halloween, check out your local dollar tree and see what fun decors you can put up around the house. If they get messed up after Halloween, that’s okay. At least you hardly spent anything, right?


And now onto today’s recipe.

This banana bread will make you swoon, my friends. It has not one…. not two…. not three… but SIX bananas in it! Are you salivating yet? All of those ripe bananas sweeten the bread and make it moist without being too dense. The deep brown color comes from brown sugar and the bananas. I promise you this recipe is a keeper to make over and over again. My mom swears by a banana bread recipe from Kona Inn…. but she tried mine today and it made her pause, close her eyes, and swoon. You. Are. Welcome.

6 Banana Banana Bread 

Serves: 6


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 6 mashed medium overripe bananas


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together butter and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten, do not over-mix. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.
