Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie [VEGAN RECIPE]

Happy August! Summer has flown by and with it, gone are the days of super hot weather. Gone are the days of basking in hours of family time and funsies. Now we’re shifting focus back to school and prepping for the Fall! (My favorite time of the year). But before we jump into today’s recipe, how are you? Are you doing well out there? I hope you are 🙂
I couldn’t help but share this recipe with you for two reasons:
- I’ve never put oatmeal in a smoothie before.
- I had never used a Vitamix Blender before.
- And three… because it’s just THAT tasty!
Now I have the fortunate experience of being able to borrow a family members Vitamix blender for a few weeks, so this recipe was perfect for me to try. If you’ve never used one, (like I had) think about cars for a moment. Normally we all drive a Ford. It gets you wear you want to go (mostly), but we need to give it a few cranks… put that extra oil thing in it… and do our little superstitious ritual to make sure that we get from point A to point B, right? That’s our blender. We mash down the food every 5-10 seconds while praying with all our might to get a creamy smoothie.
But then…. there’s the Rolls Royce. You don’t even have to have an ounce of concern because just by looking at the car you think, “Ahhh…. that will be a nice ride”. And my friends… it is. You drop in your fruit and just FEEL the sturdiness of the blender. The heavy plastic large basin welcomes multiple smoothies to be made all in one. So right off the bat you’re saving time. And then you cover it…. and press blend. Instantly it comes to life! Be amazed as it whirs and shifts everything around so well that you thought you put oatmeal in there… but now you’re not so sure because you’re left with this beautiful, pink-hued smoothie that is so delightfully creamy and tasty that the whole family swoons. That, my friends, is the Vitamix. Sure, it will cost you a pretty penny… but if you’re a smoothie junkie… or a soup junkie…. go for it. It’s THAT good!
So I did it. I used a Vitamix and now I’m hooked. Excuse me while I pull out my mason jar and begin saving my pennies. Enjoy this recipe everyone and have a beautiful weekend! ❤
Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie (Vegan)
Serves: 2 generously
- 1 cup soy milk
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 banana, broken into pieces
- 14 frozen strawberries
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons white sugar
- In a blender, combine everything and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve immediately. Enjoy! 🙂
