The Team OG Breakfast Plate! (DOTA 2)
As I began to research the DOTA 2 professional players, I became fascinated with team OG. Their captain, Fly, is an Israeli-Canadian with a rich family history of learning and teaching Krav Maga. If that isn’t cool enough, Fly and fellow teammate N0tail, have one of the longest running friendships among the pro players! But I’ll let Mr. Noob Chef really fill you in on this one-of-a-kind team:
OG is a team comprised of Fly, Notail, Moon, Crit- and Miracle-. The team was created back in October 2015 under the name “(monkey) Business”. OG is well known for being the team that has the highest average Match Making Rating (MMR) in Dota 2. What this means is they have a lot of individually talented players. In particular, Miracle- currently holds the title of having the highest MMR among all players (over 9000) and highly lauded as one of the, if not the best midlaner/carry in Dota 2 right now.
Another notable thing to mention about this team is the cornerstone friendship of Notail and Fly. They have known each other for years from the times they played under the Fnatic banner up to now. They formed OG in the hopes to address underlying issues with pro players playing for gaming organizations and aiming to treat them fairly. In game, OG is characterized by their superb teamwork and the sheer star power of each player.
Does OG have what it takes to win the Manila Major? Looking back to the Frankfurt Major last November 2015, they played through the most difficult path possible all the way from the Lower bracket all the way to winning in the Grand Finals. They are definitely a formidable team that will be bringing their A-game this week.
And now, onto The OG Breakfast Plate! 🙂
This Israeli-Canadian breakfast plate has several components: a Canadian beaver tail (sweet fried bread), Canadian bacon and egg cup, hummus with olive oil, pita bread, and Israeli cucumber and tomato salad. It seems complex, but really this plate can be whipped up in about 2 hours (including time for the bread dough to rise). Now let’s break this plate down into easy parts, shall we?
Canadian Fried Dough (aka “Beaver Tails”) is a recipe courtesy of Thera Holmes. This whole-wheat bread dough only needs to rise for one hour before it is divided into individual portions and flattened like an oval beaver’s tail. It’s then fried and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Super easy! Just follow the recipe here.
Ham, Egg, and hashbrown cups: This popular breakfast dish is as easy as 1-2-3! Just grate 2 potatoes and put in a muffin tin, bake for 10 min. Sprinkle in some grated cheese, pop in a piece of deli ham into each muffin cup, and crack an egg on top of each piece of ham. Bake again for 16 minutes (for soft-boiled eggs) and you’re done! See the recipe here.
Israeli cucumber salad: This Israeli salad consists of 2 cucumbers chopped, 2 tomatoes chopped, the juice of 1 lemon, and a sprinkle of Za’taar. Mix everything together and you’re set!
Pita and hummus: Just purchase from the store, place a dollop on the plate and drizzle with some good olive oil and you’re done!
Now you too can eat and watch OG smash it in the Majors. Go get’em boys!
